Piaggio Group opens new production facility in Vietnam as part of its plan to increase production capacity. Production capacity at the Piaggio factory in Vietnam is targeted to reach 300,000 units per year.
The new plant is located near Hanoi will begin to produce 200,000 engines per year scooter, but production will be boosted to 300,000 to meet increased production at its assembly plant earlier Piaggio.
"This is a very important event for our Group and is the foundation of success that has been accepted by the Piaggio Vietnam since 2009 and is the foundation for a new phase of our expansion in Southeast Asia. The results achieved by the Piaggio Group last year validates our global growth strategy that identifies Asia as a very important market for the development of Group in the coming years, "said Roberto Colaninno, Chairman & CEO of Piaggio Group.
